Decorative Signs

  • We carry seven types of signs, each of which makes possible a variety of layouts.
  • All signs are available in a choice of black, green, red, blue, stone or white backgrounds, with black, white or gold lettering and trim.
  • Emblems can be painted to your specifications

9" OVAL - HORIZONTAL

Takes one full-sized emblem, or up to 5 letters or numbers with small decorations.
  • Finished size: approximately 9" x 7" x 0.75"
  • Size of letters: 2" to 3" depending on number of letters required.
  • Size of numbers: 2" to 4" depending on number of digits.
   
 
9" OVAL - VERTICAL

Takes up to 3 numbers, plus any emblem in our catalog marked with an asterisk(*).
  • Finished size: approximately 7" x 9" x 0.75"
  • Size of numbers: 3" if one or two digits are required, 2" if three digits are required.
   
 
10" CIRCULAR

Takes up to 4 numbers or letters, plus one emblem.
  • Finished size: approximately 9.75" diameter x 0.75".
  • Size of numbers: 2" or 3" high, depending on the size of emblem.
   
 
12" CIRCULAR

Takes up to 20 letters with numbers plus one emblem, or 20 letters plus one large number
  • Finished size: approximately 11.5" diameter x 0.75".
Signs can be made with eyehooks for hanging from a crossbar, and can also be made double-sided. Additional charges apply.
   
 
14" OBLONG

Takes one line of type, plus an emblem or a number (with decorations)
  • Finished size: approximately 13.75" x 8.5" x 0.75".
  • Maximum characters per line of type: 13. (A character is a letter, number or space)
Signs can be made with eyehooks for hanging from a crossbar, and can also be made double-sided. It is sometimes possible to fit a number beside an emblem or to put two emblems side by side. Please confirm feasibility before ordering: extra charges may apply.
   
 
15" OVAL - HORIZONTAL

  • Finished size: approximately 12" x 15.5" x 0.75".
  • Height of letters: 2" to 2.5". Height of numbers: 2" to 5".

The colours shown above are the colours we are currently supplying. Please remember that actual colours may differ in appearance from these photographs due to the nature of the photographic process and to the way in which individual computer screens are calibrated.

'Hammered' and 'Smooth' finishes
All above colours have a distinctive 'hammered' finish except the colour 'White' which is smooth. The white paint may develop some surface 'pitting' during the drying process. This is characteristic of the finish and is not visible from a few feet away. However, if this is not acceptable to you, please choose one of the hammered finishes.

Emblems
Emblems are painted with professional sign-writers' enamel paints and can be mixed to match any specification. Signs are painted with an artist's palette - just the same way you would paint any picture - in order to create the image you require.
   
 

Options and Accessories

 


Eyehooks

All signs can be supplied with stainless steel eyehooks instead of screws so that the sign can be suspended from a crossbar.

The eyehooks are drilled into the top edge of the sign before the sign is painted, at right angles to the front surface, so that the face of the sign is untouched. An additional charge applies.


Second Emblem

It is sometimes possible to fit a second emblem onto a 12" or 14" sign, depending on the size of the emblems desired. It is always possible to fit two emblems on the 15" oval sign.

All our dog emblems are available facing in both directions, but our other emblems only face one way. This means you cannot count on being able to have two emblems facing one another: it depends on how each one was originally designed. Please check feasibility before ordering.

An additional charge is made for the second emblem.


Double-sided signs

All signs can be made double-sided, however this actually requires the creation of two complete signs which are then fused together before eyehooks are added. The additional charge reflects the amount of work involved.
